Jindalee Skate Park is situated in a corner next to the Brisbane River and the Centenary Bridge. This tucked-away park has so much to offer the community, including a generously-sized skate park with half pipe, a BMX track, a fenced playground, toilets and shaded grassy hills with river views.
The current upgrade to the Centenary Bridge does not impact the use of the skate park or playground.
Jindalee Skate Park
This western suburbs skate park is a brilliant spot for skateboarders, scooter riders, rollerbladers, and BMX riders. It offers a variety of features, such as ramps, rails, ledges, pads, and banks, suitable for riders of all levels.
Surrounded by large trees, the smooth concrete surface is always partially shaded, which is an excellent advantage in the Queensland sun. The park also boasts a metal half pipe, approximately 6 feet high by 12 feet wide and a concrete BMX pump track.
The generous layout of Jindalee Skate Park offers sufficient space and challenge for riders to showcase their skills.
While there are plenty of flat, open spaces suitable for little Brisbane Kids, toddlers and preschoolers may have a more enjoyable time visiting on a quiet weekday rather than a busy weekend.
Safety Considerations
Riders should always wear appropriate safety gear when riding scooters, bikes or skateboards. A well-fitting helmet is necessary; knee pads, wrist, and elbow guards are also recommended for skateboard riders.
For the safety of all riders, practice courtesy, turn-taking, and look out for others to avoid collisions.
Jindalee Skate Park Playground
Over the hill from the skatepark is a fully fenced playground, known as Amazons Place Park. A generous shade sail covers this enclosed space, providing extra protection from the Queensland sun.
Brisbane Kids can enjoy a climbing pyramid made of rope, spring riders, swings and a seesaw. There is also a play fort with climbing nets and two slides.
This playground is a pleasant spot for little ones to have some fun while older children skate; unfortunately, the skatepark is not visible from the playground. You may have to strike a deal – time at one area, a snack and then time at the other area.

What We Thought of Jindalee Skate Park and Playground
We really enjoy our visits to Jindalee Skate Park. Its open layout and large shady trees always feel peaceful despite its proximity to the motorway.
Combining a playground and a place to skate is a wonderful way for families to burn some energy and challenge all skill levels. We also use the riverside pathway, where my Brisbane Kid can scoot along while I enjoy a jog.
