Jindalee Pool is located just off the Centenary Highway, opposite the Jindalee Bowls Club. Their aquatic centre has a 50 metre 8 lane outdoor pool, which is open throughout all but 10 weeks of the year, and an 18 metre heated program pool. In late 2013, refurbishments were made to the pool’s little people’s play area, where they have created a fantastic Splash Pad! As well as recreational swimming, Jindalee Pool offers Learn to Swim classes, aqua aerobics and squads for both adults and children. The centre also has a shop selling current lines of VICI, Amanzi and Speedo swimwear and accessories and a café serving quality Di Bella coffee and snacks from 5:30am daily.
Jindalee Pool’s Splash Pad for Kids
The awesome Splash Pad at Jindalee Pool is like a water park for kids! With tipping buckets, mist sprays, water mushrooms, water jets and a spray fountain, you’ll have a tough time getting your little ones away! The added bonus of this area is the lovely shade sails to protect young skin from the harsh sun.
Make a Splash Swim School
The Make a Splash Swim School’s goal is to present an encouraging environment in which learning to swim is a happy and motivating experience. Each 30 minute class is kept to a small number of students to make sure that your child receives individual attention to encourage their advancing skill development.
Jindalee Pool’s full time Learn to Swim co-ordinator overseas the Make a Splash Swim School daily. All teachers at the school are fully qualified and trained to follow a program that encourages confidence and consistency in every child’s learn to swim journey. As your child progresses in their swimming development they will receive a certificate and graduate to higher levels in the swim school; moving up a level when they are ready, not only at the end of a term. To find out more and to arrange an assessment to determine your child’s swimming skill level, contact the office on (07) 3376 1002.
Squad Programs at Jindalee Pool
There’s a squad program to suit every member of the family at Jindalee Pool. Their adult’s squads, children’s squads and fitness classes are a great way to enhance your skills and fitness levels whilst getting wet and having fun!
The children’s squad program follows on from the Make a Splash learn to swim program, offering three levels of squad to choose from in accordance with your child’s ability – Mini, Junior and Intermediate. Children’s squads explore your child’s potential whilst setting and reaching goals in an encouraging environment.
Aqua Aerobics for Adults
The water aerobics programs at Jindalee Pool are a lot of fun. With sessions such as Zumba, Mums and Bubs, Seniors and Deep Water aqua aerobics, these classes are economical too, with no additional cost on top of your general pool admission fee.
Kids’ Corner Crèche at Jindalee Swimming Pool
The Kids’ Corner Crèche is open Monday to Friday from 9am until 11am, offering parents the opportunity to swim on their own, relax with a coffee or take part in one of our Swim Fit classes. The crèche carers will keep your kids entertained with the outdoor play area with slide and sandpit, lots of books and toys and a TV for when the weather isn’t so great.
The crèche is an affordable option for parents wanting to keep fit. If your child is swimming, the general entry fee will apply on top of the crèche fees. All children must bring a hat, water bottle and their own morning tea. Sunscreen will be applied before any outdoor play.
The Jindalee Pool runs Learn to Swim classes in its indoor heated pool all year round. The outdoor 50 metre pool is also heated and is only closed for 10 weeks of the year, from June to mid-August. For more information, including current opening, admission fees and class times, take a look at the Jindalee Pool’s website here or the Brisbane City Council Pools Website.
