Discover the Lagoon Road Mountain Bike Trail, a purpose-built mountain biking destination on the northside of Brisbane. Spanning more than 3km, the trail offers a variety of sections suitable for all skill levels, and is a wonderful activity to engage in at any time of the year.
Lagoon Road Mountain Bike Trail
The Lagoon Road Mountain bike trail opened in the second half of 2025 in Burpengary, providing locals and visitors with an opportunity to ride mountain bikes in a fun and safe environment.
The purpose-built trails are nestled in the bushland with everything from beginner sections to an advanced black run.
Parking at the end of Lagoon Road, you will find the beginning of the trail about 100m to the left. Itโs here you will come across the trails main signage, detailing safety considerations, code of conduct, a map and details of the trail. You will also note there is a sign stipulating motorcycles are prohibited on the trail.
Once you have familiarised yourself with the details of the track, it is time to get pedalling.
As the trail was built among the bush there are plenty of trees and their trunks surrounding it, which pose as obstacles. For this reason, and due to the raised boardwalks, berms, jumps and rollers, itโs a good idea to do a slow ride-through, to see whatโs where and how you might tackle the trail on future rides.
The one-way trail starts off easy (Trail 1 โ Green Wattle), with a gentle climb meandering through the trees before arriving at Trail 2 โ Froglet, which is also listed as โeasy.โ This trail then splits into two: Trail 3 โ Blue Gum to the right and Trail 4 – Fantail to the left. Both Trail 3, 4 and 5 are listed as Intermediate.
The Trail listed as โdifficultโ, the black run, can be accessed off Trail 4 and contains the jumps. Towards the end of Trail 6 โ Shadows, riders can loop back around to the start of the black run by utilising Trail 5 โ Swift.
For safety reasons just remember, all trails are strictly one-way, as depicted on the map.

What We Thought of Lagoon Road Mountain Bike Trail
This trail is a great addition to the area, encouraging families to explore the outdoors on their bikes.
When we visited on a weekday there were several riders using the trail. A father and son (~8 years old) said it was a good track with enough features to keep them entertained for a few runs. While the child felt confident on the trail, and had some mountain biking experience, he chose to avoid the jumps, as he couldnโt get up enough speed. Overall, they enjoyed the trail and said they would visit again.
Others have mentioned โitโs a good little trailโ and โshort, sharp and fun.โ
