Spring Mountain Lagoon Park is a feature-packed playground situated in lush tropical gardens in Spring Mountain. It’s located South West of the Brisbane city centre out near farms and forests (sometimes referred to as New Beith), but still close to Springfield and major roads.
Spring Mountain Lagoon Park playground
This is a deceptively large playground with lots to do! There is a section closest to the covered tables with a smaller climbing structure with slide and sand play and toddler table which allows younger kids to stay closer to supervision. There’s also an array of sound pipes which are great fun for kids of all ages.
Connected via a crossing across a rocky channel is another large play space featuring a flying fox, basket, toddler and traditional swings, and a large two storey climbing fort.
The fort features two different ‘bridges’ connecting the main structures, one on each level. The lower bridge is an open balancing beam with a rope for stability and the upper bridge is a contained tunnel. There are two slides, one from the lower level and a super high slide from the top of the playground structure.
Note – the main part of the playground is not shaded so it might be best to plan visits on hot days for early morning and late afternoon as the slides and sand can get hot.
There are also large lawn areas on either side of the playground which would make great places for picnics, sports or games.
Imagination Factor at Spring Mountain Lagoon Park
The large climbing fort encourages Brisbane Kids to hide, play, chase and imagine. Is it a rocket ready for blast-off? A tree house in the jungle on a deserted island? A fire station full of fire fighters ready for dispatch? Younger kids will enjoy the sand play and the swings and flying fox are always a hit with all ages!
The lawn areas allow kids to play their own sports if they bring along their favourite equipment, or even host an impromptu game of tag.
Younger kids will enjoy interacting with the sand play area and also the sound pipes which encourage an early exploration of science and sound.
The modern amenities, beautiful landscaping and covered picnic tables and barbecue would make this park an ideal location to host birthday parties, groups or gatherings. There is a range of street parking available and the playground has elements that suit all ages.
Accessibility at Spring Mountain Lagoon Park
The toilet block contains two unisex toilets, one of which is wheelchair accessible.
The sand base below the play equipment means this playground is not designed to be inclusive to visitors in wheelchairs.
