Get ready to let loose at Leaf Park!
Leaf Park Playground
Leaf Park is a well-designed space which considers the community’s needs and encourages the whole family to come together for active outdoor play.
It’s easy to imagine adults talking at the picnic table or using the fitness equipment as little ones play inside the fort, big kids ride their scooters, and teenagers kick a ball around or shoot some hoops.
The play equipment at Leaf Park consists of a fort of four connected pillars, two of which have a cubby house design on top of them. There are plenty of things to climb, including rope nets, ladders, stairs and a rope bridge. Brisbane Kids can then slip and slide back to the base via one of the three slides or the spiral pole. At ground level, under the fort towers, are some shop windows for toddlers to explore.
To the side of the main playground, five swings are arranged in a pentagonal shape. One of the swings is a toddler swing. Looping the fort and the swings is a concrete scooter path. The track has lane markings and a slight slope but no other obstacles.
In addition to the cool playground, there is a large kick and play lawn. This lawn is a super place for ball sports, a game of frisbee or just a place for running around. Basketball hoops are situated at each end of the grassy area.
Note – Unfortunately this park DOES NOT have any public toilet facilities.
Imagination Factor at Leaf Park
The possibilities for imaginative games are endless when you have a fort of connected cubby houses! Kids can become explorers, pirates, or even superheroes defending the city from villains. The swings can become flying escape pods that venture off through the clouds.
When playing on the lawn area, perhaps your sporty kid can imagine they the next sporting hero – running in a race, kicking the winning goal or shooting hoops.
Accessibility at Leaf Park
Leaf Park is surrounded by a lovely concrete path and scooter track, providing access to the playground, fitness equipment and picnic tables. There are shortcuts from the playground to the swings and green space via large sandstone blocks, which would not be suitable for prams or wheelchairs.
The playground has a bark base; the only accessible items would be the shop windows under the forts. There are no obstacles or steep inclines on the scooter track.
