Mustard Seed Cafe & Play is a brand-new destination near Morayfield for parents with imaginative preschoolers. The concept combines a kid-friendly cafe with an imaginative indoor play village, with different themed rooms for children to explore, use their imaginations and role play while parents and carers can sit down and enjoy a coffee nearby.
The Space

As you walk in, the real cafe is right at the entrance, so you can order drinks and food before entering the gated play area. Inside, there’s an open space with tables and chairs for guests to sit on, as well as plenty of space to manoeuvre and park prams.
At the back, there is a unisex toilet with a change-table, a gated baby area with a ball pit and toys for children aged under twelve months, and there’s also a birthday party area. In the main area are open sectioned rooms, each with a theme, such as a beauty salon, a vet, a play cafe, a zoo, a construction site, a fire station and a supermarket.

Within each room are toys that fit the room’s theme. The fire station has firefighter costumes and a slide, the supermarket has groceries, the cafe has play food, the construction site has ride-on trucks and rubber blocks, and so on.
The setup is particularly well suited to toddlers and preschoolers, although the cafe is aimed at kids aged 0-8.
The Kids’ Menu
There isn’t a dedicated kids’ menu at Mustard Seed Cafe & Play, but the selection caters to children, with child-friendly food and drinks, such as sausage rolls, cupcakes, toasties and brownies, at reasonable prices and appropriate portions. This makes it easy to turn a play session into a proper family outing rather than having to head somewhere else for lunch.
The menu is designed with families in mind, offering familiar options for little eaters alongside treats and drinks.
The Parent Factor

Parents can sip coffee alongside the play experience with their children. In fact, the cafe itself describes what it offers as ‘a play village’ and ‘a proper coffee’, which is why it may be pretty appealing to parents.
For families with young children, it’s the kind of space where you can sit down while the kids get busy playing. The set up, with gates, an open floor plan, rooms along the sides and seats in the middle, means parents always have eyes on their kids without having to trail behind them.
Mustard Seed Cafe & Play feels like a place designed for parents and carers to enjoy catching up with a friends and family during the week.
The Magic Ingredient

Mustard Seed Cafe & Play has created a miniature world where children can use their imaginations and play at being grown-ups.
This imaginative role playing element is what makes the experience feel different from a traditional indoor play centre. If your child loves dressing up, add this place to your list of places to visit.
