Riverlife’s Adventure Tours
Day Kayak Adventure
Kayaking along the Brisbane River and exploring the city’s best landmarks is a popular activity all year-’round amongst local families. The tide times determine which direction you will be heading in, but don’t worry, there is plenty to discover each way!
Kayaking is a great activity for children. They will learn resilience and that speed depends on technique and coordination. Each session is 90 minutes long and tours are accompanied by a well-trained instructor who will provide you with a safety briefing and all the gear and will make sure you feel safe during your kayak adventure.
The minimum age for this tour is eight years. If you have younger children, check out Riverlife’s sister company, Walkabout Creek Adventures at Enoggera Reserve, where you can hire tandem kayaks with children from the age of five.
Rock Climb Adventure
For active people and adventure lovers from the age of eight, rock climbing is a fun and adrenaline-filled activity that will see you scaling the Kangaroo Point Cliffs during a 2-hour session. Your children will feel like little spidermen conquering the rock wall and will be rewarded with a great sense of accomplishment.
No experience is necessary, as each session is run by well-qualified and highly trained staff and includes full instruction, a safety briefing and all safety equipment.
Children between 8 – 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
Surprise your family with an abseiling adventure they won’t forget. Less physically challenging than kayaking or rock climbing, abseiling requires mental strength, overcoming the fear of height. What might seem scary at first is a totally safe experience, as you and your children are in great hands with Riverlife’s experienced staff who will provide you with full instructions, a safety briefing and equipment.
Once on top of the cliffs, you will be greeted with stunning views over the Brisbane River and the city skyline. Slowly, you’ll get used to the height and, with the help of Riverlife’s experienced instructors, will be guided safely over the edge. In no time you will be abseiling the 20 metre high cliffs. This is a truly memorable and rewarding experience.
Participants must be at least 8 years of age.
Riverlife’s kayaking, abseiling and rock climbing tours are also available during twilight!
