  • AboutBrisbane Kids Creative was created by me! Ngaire Stirling. I wont pretend to talk in the third person about myself, instead let me tell you a bit about me and how 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came about. At the time the domain name 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came up for purchase I was a stay at home mum in the middle of a degree centred around journalism and PR. a couple of years earlier I had been contemplating returning to my previous career in marketing management and for a while I even tried. 3 months into a new role and it was clear that I had no passion for my old life and to make the decision to quit easier, my almost 2 year old at the time was not coping with childcare. So, as a family we made the decision for me to return to becoming a stay at home mum. About 1 years later or so.. 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came up for sale. My friends had often commented on my ability to know exactly what was happening in Brisbane for kids. I had my son enrolled in some awesome activities and we often visited some great destinations. I loved finding fun things for us to doโ€ฆ

TC Beirne Park | Hendra Toddler Playground

Last updated: August 25, 2024
Blue and yellow plane play structure at TC Beirne Park.

If you are looking for a shady playground that is fully fenced and perfect for a playdate, then look no further than TC Beirne Park in Hendra.

TC Beirne Park

Fenced TC Beirne Park.

This lovely Hendra park on Brisbane’s northside is the perfect playground for toddlers with numerous play opportunities throughout the fully fenced area.

A colourful play structure will entice children featuring a bridge, slides, tunnel, net and climbing rings.

Several other freestanding pieces of equipment will provide plenty of fun including a nest swing, spinning rope pyramid, wobbly surfboard, spinning disc, and springers.

Aside from the traditional play equipment you will find a cool, blue and yellow aeroplane structure which will evoke imaginative play, as budding pilots pretend to fly the plane or perhaps just use it to climb on.

For those who prefer road vehicles, a truck-like metal structure, complete with wheels, seats and steering wheel graces the play area and is always popular. I wonder how many passengers you can fit on/in your truck??

Outside the fenced area you will find an accessible toilet, bins, water tap, several seating options, open grassy space for ball games and outdoor exercise equipment (under a shade sail).

Imagination Factor at TC Beirne Park

Brisbane Kids can use the truck and plane structures for lots of different play involving the imagination. With a group of toddlers this could prove to be a huge adventure.

Running games, tiggy, or hide and seek could be on the cards for active children, while those craving some quieter activities could sit under the shade of a tree and daydream, read a book or gaze into the treetops to see what they might discover.

Accessibility at TC Beirne Park

This park is not overly accessible though it is fully fenced, has a concrete path running through it and has accessible toilets.

It is beautiful shaded playground, thanks to the massive, established trees and contains several seating options in and outside of the fenced area.

There is a chip bark base throughout, with soft fall under some equipment including the nest swing, spinner and exercise equipment.

While You Are in the Area

If you are keen to explore some other amazing parks nearby consider visiting Oriel Park or the sprawling Kalinga Park. Another fun, toddler friendly playground which is fully fenced is the amazing Ascot Park.

When you are craving coffee, a little treat or high tea, be sure to check out Dandelion Driftwood which is just a short walk away.

What We Thought of TC Beirne Park

Large grassed area and established trees at TC Beirne Park.

This fully fenced and very shady playground is just perfect for toddlers and parents with multiple children. Several parent groups where sitting on picnic rugs under the trees when we visited, while others were having fun outside the fenced area kicking a ball.

Older children will enjoy the spinning equipment, but it may be an idea to bring a ball, or something else to entertain them if visiting with children of varying ages.

How to Get to TC Beirne Park

TC Beirne Park is located on Gerler Road in Hendra.

If you are travelling via public transport, Hendra train station is about 1km away, while buses also service the streets surround TC Beirne Park.

FYI there’s been some minor changes to playground area, equipment & seating/tables in recent weeks.
Also, address should be Gerler Road not Street.
And, it’s street parking only, not off street.
