Yeronga Park Memorial Pool, in Brisbane’s inner south, has something for every Brisbane family, whether you’re keen squad swimmers or just want to cool down with the family as the mercury rises.
Yeronga Park Memorial Pool
Yeronga has four different pools catering to a range of swimming abilities. Younger kids can learn to swim in the covered, heated pool with baby change tables adjacent or splash around in the partially covered shallow wading pool with mushroom fountains.
If you want to swim while your little Brisbane kids play, a child-minding service is available most mornings for a small fee (BYO morning tea). If they still aren’t played out by the time you leave, there’s a lovely playground right next door at Yeronga Park.
Older kids and adults have a choice of 25m pools, both of which are heated in winter. Swim squad and triathlete training will help keep you and your kids fit, or there are gazebos, deck chairs and lawns with a coffee shop if a lazy day by the pool is more your speed.

What We Thought of Yeronga Park Memorial Pool
We had a fun-filled day here, splashing about and enjoying the facilities. My little Brisbane kid loved the mushroom splash pool, and I was grateful for the shade in and out of the water.
Ken Fletcher Park in Tennyson is one of our favourite parks close by for Brisbane Kids to play in. Arnwood Place, a little fenced playground perfect for younger Brisbane Kids, is also nearby in Tarragindi.

Keep Watch Pool Safety Program at Brisbane City Council Pools
Brisbane City Council public pools are part of the Keep Watch pool safety program established by the Royal Life Saving Society of Australia. This program aims to prevent childhood drownings by setting out these guidelines –
0-5 year olds & non-swimmers – Parent or guardian within arms’ reach and present in the water at all times.
6-10 year olds – Parent or guardian showing constant active supervision and prepared to get wet and enter the water when necessary.
11-14 year olds – Parent or guardian present to regularly and physically check on the child.
By enforcing these guidelines, Brisbane City Council hopes to prevent all drowning incidents at council pools.
