Aura Dino Park at Nirimba on the Sunshine Coast is a dinosaur-themed adventure with a giant ‘Aura-Saurus’ dinosaur play piece for children set within a recreational space designed to welcome the community.

This unique recreation space is part of the Aura Park Trail, with more than 20 parks and playgrounds designed to bring the community together and impress the importance of active communities.

Aura Dinosaur Park Playground

Is there anything better than a dinosaur-themed playground? We don’t think so, and once you see Aura Dino Park for yourself, you will agree. Stocklands have gone beyond the standard playground design with this bright, engaging, Jurassic play space. The playground’s centrepiece is a huge dinosaur structure with a climbable tail and head and webbed netting for the kids to scale.

Children can enter through the mouth of the dinosaur, climb up along its body and then exit through a tunnel dinosaur tail- how cool is that!?

Miniature dinosaur eggs feature throughout the playground, and children can even search for fossils in the archaeological digging pit. This Aura playground is serious dinosaur business!

Play extends with sensory experiences and additional activities, including Moiree optic panels, sound shakers, swaying pods and seats, climbing discs and membrane bridges.

Imagination Factor at Dino Park

Children can imagine themselves as dinosaur hunters or perhaps escaping from the dinosaurs- the possibilities abound. Aura Dino Park is the best playground on the Sunshine Coast for young palaeontologists to explore their skills! There is even a sign saying, “Caution: Archaeological Dig Site.”

We love this playground so much we’ve added it to our list of Dinosaur places in Brisbane because even though it’s on the Sunshine Coast, we think, if you have a dinosaur fan, they will most certainly want to experience this fun for themselves!

Accessibility at Aura Dino Park

This playground is not overly accessible with a sand base making access difficult for those with mobility issues. There is however a concrete pathway weaving throughout the park and plenty of seating options are scattered around the area, including bench seats, relaxer chairs, and picnic tables.

Accessible toilet facilities are available at this Nirimba park.

Aura is fortunate to have more than 20 parks and playgrounds to entertain families with most of them being themed. We’ve been to many of them and our faves include:

Aura Treehouse Playground features an iconic tree playground (which reminds us of the Brisbane Kids Logo!). Note: this playground is currently being moved to somewhere else in Aura estate. We will keep you updated.

Aura Frog Park at Caloundra West features a frog centrepiece and parkour playground equipment.

Whale Park in Banya has a cool whale structure to climb on, through and under, as well as swings, slide, basketball half-court and toilets.

While some have toilets, many don’t, so make sure your family is toileted before you visit or plan your escape route to the nearest facilities when nature calls.

We found public toilets located at Stockland Aura Vision Centre and Display Village, Tucker Street, Bells Creek, as well as a cute café with a fenced play area for the toddlers.
