Heading to the Sunshine Coast and looking for a gated playground where the kids can ride bikes or scooters, play ball games and stop for a picnic? Boab Oasis Park in Nirimba has room for all of it.
Boab Oasis Park, Aura
Boab Oasis Park is a fully fenced playground in Nirimba, within the Aura development on the Sunshine Coast. That gate is a big win for parents, especially with so many ways for children to play here.
The park combines a large climbing structure with swings, a sandpit, bike ramps and open green space. It feels roomy without being overwhelming, giving children space to move between activities or make up their own games.
The main play structure has three slides: a tube slide, a smaller slide and a larger open slide. Three towers offer climbing nets and different routes between levels. Confident climbers can try the fireman’s pole, while raised rubber steps lead to a ramp that provides another way onto the structure.

Elsewhere in the playground, children will find three rockers, a ground-level roundabout and a raised spinning roundabout. There are five swings, including two regular swings, a rope nest swing and two harness swings for younger children.
The shaded sandpit has diggers for scooping and shifting sand. Logs in the grassy area offer another chance to practise balancing.
Bring the bikes or scooters, too. There’s plenty of room to ride inside the fenced area, with bike ramps incorporated into the playground. A larger ramp nearby gives older children another place to ride.

For a picnic, there are three covered tables inside the fenced area, one with a barbecue. You’ll find more picnic tables and barbecues outside the fence. Benches throughout the park give parents places to sit while watching the kids, and four large shade sails cover sections of the playground.
Imagination factor
The towers, climbing nets and different levels of the main structure are made for imaginary adventures. Children might climb a mountain, put on a show for friends sitting on the steps or send secret messages through the talk tubes.
There’s also space between the play areas to invent games of their own, whether that’s a scooter race or a quest around the park.
Accessibility
Concrete paths connect the different parts of the park, with room for prams and wheelchairs to move around. A ramp provides access onto the main play structure.
Surfaces vary across the park and include rubber flooring near the main equipment, woodchip, sawdust, grass and paved paths. There are toilets within the playground, including an accessible toilet and a baby change table.

What we love about Boab Oasis Park
Boab Oasis Park has a good mix of equipment for different ages, from the sandpit digger and smaller swings to the climbing towers, bike ramps and larger slide.

There’s plenty for active kids to explore, with climbing, spinning, sliding, riding and sand play all in one place. The grassy areas gave our kids space to run around between activities.
The fully fenced layout is another plus for families with younger children. Little ones have room to play, while parents can more easily keep track of where they are.
While you’re in the area
There are plenty of other playgrounds around Nirimba and Aura, so you could turn a visit to Boab Oasis Park into a playground-hopping day.
Aura Dino Park is a good option for dinosaur-loving kids. It has a giant Aura-saurus climbing structure, dinosaur eggs and a digging area, along with open grass, handball courts, barbecues and toilets.
Fig Tree Park on Annalise Circuit is another themed playground, with a large fig-tree-inspired climbing structure, slides, nets, a flying fox and nature-themed play.
