If you are looking to cool down, swim some laps or just splash about, Cleveland Aquatic Centre has you covered with not one but four swimming pools. There are three outdoor pools; a 25m, 50m, and an adventure pool, while inside there is a 25m pool which caters for Learn to Swim and hydrotherapy. All pools, with the exception of the adventure pool, are heated all year round for your comfort.
Cleveland Aquatic Centre – The Pools
While there are several pools to enjoy at the Cleveland Aquatic Centre, the kids will most likely be drawn to the adventure pool. Open seasonally, from September to April, this outdoor pool is great for family fun. It features slides, water features, a waterfall and rapid water, which are bound to create lots of laughter.
The outdoor 50m lap pool is heated year round to 27 degrees, and is 1m at its shallowest and 2m at its deepest.
The 25m outdoor pool however, is heated to 29 degrees, and is easily accessible with ramp access, with depths ranging from 1m – 1.2m. Because of the relatively shallow nature of this pool and the warmer temperature, this pool is popular for water walking, swimming and rehabilitation exercises.
Surrounded by trees, the aquatic centre is the perfect place for a full morning or afternoon of fun so bring a picnic and relax while keeping cool. There are set opening times which can be found on the website.
What Else is on Offer at Cleveland Aquatic Centre
The Cleveland Aquatic Centre complex offers more than just pools to splash about in. They also offer aqua aerobics, swim squad, hydrotherapy, designated lanes for lap swimming, aquatic fun days, birthday parties and children and adult swimming lessons.
A variety of memberships and passes are available to patrons, with details found on the Cleveland Aquatic Centre website or at the centre itself.
Within the complex there is also a gym which has a cardio room, free weights and pin loaded machines. And if that isn’t enough to get your heart racing, adjacent to the carpark is a skatepark.

What We Thought About Cleveland Aquatic Centre
The adventure area at the Cleveland Aquatic Centre is a super fun space for kids and adults. The slide and rapid river pool are awesome and will entertain families while cooling them down too.
After our recent visit we all agreed we would love to come back, which is always a good indication of how much we enjoyed it.
