One of Ipswichโs newest and flashiest playgrounds, Daybreak Park in Walloon, is overflowing with interactive features from hair-raising cliff riders and a mega slide, to a variety of sporting facilities and accessible play equipment.
This thoughtfully curated recreational parkland has clearly been designed with the community at the forefront while also going big on the โwow factorโ. Inclusions such as toilets, electric BBQs and parking set it apart from other nearby playgrounds, cementing Daybreak Park as an ideal meeting place and fantastic kidsโ birthday party location.
Daybreak Park Playground
This expansive playground in Walloon, located about 20 minutes from Ipswich CBD, delivers surprises around every corner with engaging elements packed in from top to bottom.
Most striking of all is a multi-level tower complete with platform maze and a huge tunnel slide which is sure to delight daring playground goers. Turning up the thrill level to the maximum, is a set of cliff riders โ an exciting, new piece of equipment which allows users to move from one platform to another using the momentum of a swinging pole.
If your little one prefers to have their feet closer to the ground, thereโs plenty of other activities to keep them busy including hammocks, spinners and a trio of the ever popular in-ground trampolines.
More adventurous visitors can scale the various climbing challenges or take to the air on the flying fox. Youโll also find playground staples such as swings, toddler slides and netting. With well over 20 different pieces of equipment โ itโs simply impossible to name them all!
The surrounding parkland area is a sports loverโs paradise with a fenced basketball court (two hoops), table tennis table and decently size sporting field which boasts a hybrid rugby and AFL goal post to appease both the Broncos and Lions fans. There is also a fully shaded outdoor gym within a two minute walking distance to the playground.
Picnic facilities like shelters and BBQs are abundant if you donโt mind sharing the space with a cheeky magpie or two.
Imagination Factor at Daybreak Park
Daybreak Park oozes creative inspiration from the brightly coloured equipment to the multi-level play spaces. While there is no obvious theme, the innovative playground layout invites children to explore every inch of the playground and test their limits for risk taking.
Reflective discs cast rainbow colours on the ground depending on the time of day and add a touch of magic. Playability, broad age appeal and the return visit factor are hugely boosted by the variety of play experiences – from climbing and balancing to spinning and jumping, no two visits could ever look the same.
Accessibility at Daybreak Park
The playground design shows significant consideration has been given to accessibility with the inclusion of a long, ramp section in the main playground, ground level activities and an adaptive swing.
All facilities including accessible car parks and toilets are linked by concrete pathways, however there is still heavy construction in the area which could impede accessibility at times.
