Brisbane Festival 2026 – SAVE THE DATE!

The full 2026 program will be revealed on 9th June 2026, but here is what we know so far…

Brisbane Festival 2026 returns from 4th to 26th September, offering a spectacular mix of free and ticketed events that will ignite imaginations across the city. The full program will be announced on 9 June 2026, but if the early confirmations are anything to go by, families, art lovers, and curious minds are in for an unforgettable spring season across Brisbane’s rivers, gardens, and iconic landmarks.

The festival opens on Saturday 5 September with the much-loved Riverfire, Brisbane’s favourite night of the year. Brisbane is set to explode in colour with the spectacular free event, with bridges, barges, and rooftops coming alive with dazzling fireworks while the entire city becomes part of the celebration.

Among the already-announced highlights, Make, Believe, Magic: The Worlds of The Jim Henson Company is an unprecedented exhibition exploring the imaginative storytelling and world-building of The Jim Henson Company, running from 12 September at QAGOMA — a wonderful option for families with young children.

Strong is the New Pretty runs 1–19 September and promises to be more than a show about sport — it’s about a revolution. And for something a little more intimate, The Choir of Man invites audiences to the best pub in the world, running 3–13 September.

Music lovers can look forward to the Queensland Symphony Orchestra’s Maestro series, with Maestro 6: La Mer capturing the ever-shifting moods of the sea on 4 September, and Maestro 7: Symphonic Dances – built around the joy of dance — closing out the festival on 25–26 September.

Can’t decide what to see? Festival Fever offers three tickets for $60 – a lucky-dip pass to Brisbane Festival where there’s always something you’ll love or something new to discover.

With the full program still to be revealed on 9th June, this is just a taste of what’s to come.
